| January 2, 2003 Sgt Steven Checo, 22, wanted to do something for his country. What more could he give than his young life? A mass in both Spanish and English was held in the Bronx, NY. Sgt Checo's remains were cremated. He was the17th American to be killed in a hostile situation since the War on Terror began last year. January 22, 2003 Michael Renee Pouliot, 46, was gunned down in Kuwait yesterday. He was on his way to work with another man when his car was spattered with bullets. It is classified as a terrorists attack. He was a civilian, as was the man with him. His passenger is in critical condition. Mr. Pouliot was from San Diego, CA. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- February 04, 2003 The names of four soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan on January 30, 2003 have been released. They were members of the elite and specialized group called "Night Stalkers" The four were killed in a crash of a Black Hawk helicopter near Bagram, Afghanistan. The four soldiers were, Sgt. Gregory M. Frampton, 37, of California, Chief Warrant Officer Mark S. O' Steen, 43, of Alabama, Staff Sgt. Daniel L. Kisling Jr., 31, of Missouri, and Chief Warrant Officer Thomas J. Gibbons, 31, of Maryland. February 07, 2003 The CIA released the name of the second agent killed in the line of duty on February 06, 2003. Helge Boes, 32, graduated from Georgia State Univeristy and Harvard Law School. Mr Boes joined the CIA in 2001. He was killed by a grenade that went off prematurely while participating in a live fire exercise in Afghanistan. Mr. Boes is survived by his parents and his wife, Cindy. February 11, 2003 A very young Kokomo, Indiana man was killed, Thursday, February 06, in an accident involving a Humvee while on active duty in Kuwait . Brian Clemens, 19, was a Spc in the Indiana National Guard of Fort Wayne, IN. He was said to be a very good student and wrestler who was a very nice guy who wanted to help anyone when he could. He was working to save money to go to college. His sister and family will miss this delightful young man. February 25, 2003 A Black Hawk helicopter crashed with four soldiers on board while night training in Kuwait. The four were stationed at a base about 30 miles from Kuwait City.
