May 20, 2004  

Staff Sgt. William D. Chaney, 59, of
Schaumburg, Ill., died May 18, in Landstuhl,
Germany due to a
non-combat related injury.  
Initial reports indicate that Chaney was medically
evacuated from Iraq to Germany for surgery due
to a sudden medical condition. He died from
complications after surgery.  Chaney was
assigned to the
Army National Guard,
Company B, 1st Battalion, 106th Aviation
Regiment,
Chicago, Ill.

May 21, 2004  

Pfc. Michael M. Carey, 20, of Prince George,
Va., died May 18 in Iraq.  He
apparently fell
into a canal
and did not resurface.  His remains
were recovered
on May 18.  He was assigned
to
1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st
Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary
Force
, at Camp Pendleton, Calif.


Spc. Michael C. Campbell, 34, of Marshfield,
Mo., died May 19, in
Samarra, Iraq, when his
convoy hit an
improvised explosive device.

Pfc. Leslie D. Jackson, 18, of Richmond, Va.,
